SATURN | FRIGG, BALDUR
Also known as Kiss and Go
Priced Per Ounce
In Norse mythology, the god Baldur was unbeatable because his mother had sworn that nothing growing on earth would hurt him. Frigga was the goddess of love and marriage. Mistletoe didn't grow this way, thus Loki used it to kill him. When her son was revived by the mistletoe berries made from Frigga's tears, she declared the plant to be a symbol of love. Roman tradition and Saturnalia, a pagan festival honoring the Roman deity Saturn and agricultural achievements, are to thank for the hanging of mistletoe branches. Mistletoe is seen as a lucky emblem in Virgil's Aeneid.
Health benefits that have been attributed to mistletoe include improving cardiovascular health, relieving stress and anxiety, and boosting the immune system to help fight off colds and respiratory problems. It is also a popular complementary therapy for cancer treatment in many parts of the world.
