Folklore is happy to introduce to you a new in house art pendant series from our creator:

Pratum Felicitatis: A Parable

This pendant is hand sculpted, found, forged, and painted. A beautiful sunflower sits in a pot holding its little companion, as well as a bouquet of crystals to complement and help balance the lower three chakra systems, work through trauma, and find safety in a sunny disposition. Vanadinite, carnelian, and sunstone are here to be your guides.

"Once upon a time, in a land not too distant, there existed a field where two sunflowers stood proud under the sun's watchful gaze. A weary farmer, disheartened by his failing crops, stumbled upon these peculiar flowers. They stood apart from the rest, one towering over the other, a curious sight indeed.

Nature, in its whimsical dance, often shapes things in curious ways—some taller, some louder in their presence. These sunflowers, unaware of the physics of growth and light, knew nothing of the scarcity that sometimes befalls the realm of nature. The farmer, at times forgetful of their needs, and passersby casting shadows upon them, led to the smaller sunflower wilting, while its taller companion thrived.

Yet, overlooking the foibles of human thoughts, the tall sunflower generously shared nutrients and water with its surroundings, even nurturing the diminutive flower. But the farmer's words had seeped into the essence of the smaller one, instilling indignation within its leaves. Thus, the smaller flower concocted a plan. It sent its vines deep into the earth, tearing through the soil until it discovered a crevice in a rock, a perfect niche for its roots and leaves. It yearned to flee from human interference, eschewing cooperation with the soil and the surrounding trees.

Departing from its home, the little flower sought freedom beyond the reach of doubt, basking alone in the sun's radiant warmth. It uprooted itself, traversing dirt, rocks, and even concrete, enduring wounds and shedding petals in pursuit of a new sanctuary. As it forged ahead, forgetting its duty to aid others' growth, the tall sunflower remained, watching over the vacant spot left behind. It nourished the weeds, scattered seeds, and witnessed the birth of new flowers. Snapdragons, carried by the wind, thrived under the shade of the sunflower. They too embraced the spirit of sharing, and the bees hummed with joy once more.

Where once stood barrenness, now flourished an oasis of vibrant life, untouched by neglect, anger, or resentment. A captivating beauty emerged, hidden from view by the encircling trees, admired only by nature's discerning eyes."

We grow from the stories that once oppressed us; the things that ate at us at night, that kept us low. Here I am, cultivating my garden, delighted as I watch it grow, and grow, and grow...

This is a one of a kind series near and dear to my heart, one that started Folklore years ago, before it ever received its new moniker. This story brought me back to my art and creation in all of its form. It is also the name of our beautifully floral and fragrant Pratum conjure oil, its inspiration coming to me during a time of desolation, a time of seeking hope for the future ahead. While perusing classics, I stumbled upon an examination of the journey of the soul, told through visceral hermetic and alchemical language. It spoke to me immediately; and, of course, I had to dive deeper. I watched the story unfold of a soul coming to see and integrate within itself its truths, one of ultimate understanding and an outpouring of love not only for others, but a forgiveness for the desires of the self.

It is through this journey, through these truths, and through this love, that I present you one of a kind crystal pendant keepsakes. A fae portal surrounded in apatite, moss, and amanita with a gorgeous, calming amethyst window; a tree of the Meadow Herself, containing rhodochrosite, a heart stone at its center to integrate the spiritual and physical, with alchemically transformed citrine as its base; color shifting flora; amanitas with amplifying quartz, emotionally balancing lepidolite, and alchemical citrine gems; the meadow of felicity contains it all.

While each piece speaks to its own experience and piece of the soul, find our Pratum Felicitatis blog post to read the story that inspired it all.
